The DIY hair mask that ALWAYS makes my hair look like I just got a keratin treatment 😂🌿✨ Quick disclaimer: there’s no actual keratin in this mask! I call it my “keratin” mask because of how insanely smooth, soft + shiny my hair looks after I use it. 🤌🏽 Here’s what you’ll need: 🌿 ½ aloe vera leaf (gel only) 🌱 3 tbsp flaxseeds 💧 1½–2 cups water ✨ 2 tbsp jojoba oil 🍇 1 tsp grapeseed oil HOW I MAKE IT: The night before, I stand my aloe leaf in a cup of water and let it sit overnight to help drain the yellow latex. The next day, add your flaxseeds + water to a pot and simmer over medium heat for about 8–10 minutes, or until it starts forming that gel-like consistency. Strain it while it’s still warm! Then blend your fresh aloe gel, flaxseed gel, jojoba oil + grapeseed oil together until everything is completely smooth. WHY THESE INGREDIENTS? 👇🏽 🌿 Aloe vera helps hydrate and soften the hair while adding slip and shine. 🌱 Flaxseed gel helps smooth the hair, reduce the appearance of frizz and leave it looking super shiny. ✨ Jojoba oil helps lock in moisture and soften the hair without making it feel super heavy. 🍇 Grapeseed oil helps seal in moisture while adding even more smoothness + shine. HOW I USE IT: I apply it to damp hair from roots to ends and leave it on for about 30–45 minutes. Then I shampoo really well (I personally shampoo twice), condition + style like normal.
