When I was an AGM for a fast/casual Mediterranean restaurant I had an employee who had 5 grandmas pass away. obituaries were required

I agree that a line in the sand needed to be drawn but the unprofessionalism of that email is the big issue. He should have written the email in a more professional manner

When I was ever the MOD I very rarely had anyone call out. Now if another manager was working when I was off, several call outs.

I can understand why the manager was so upset about staff not showing up for so many possible reasons however the manager took it way to far

yes if one person called in once or even one every few months it's unnecessary to fire them but if it is someone who calls in 2 or 3 times a week then thats a different story

It was a lot of too much, but it does get ridiculous with the "call outs" at work. My son complained constantly how some had buried 3 grandmas. Like come-on. 😂

Sounds like that boy was emotionally damaged. And he tried to lose it in work. A lot of us do. But he definitely was crying about something that happened in his past life at this situation. Spiritual immaturity is a real thing. That’s why I now work in a food truck. I don’t need the fancy hotels. I don’t need the high-end steakhouse. I just need the peace.

I just retired from 28 years of school bus driving. We have popup drug screens and they sent me on the morning of my dogs euthanasia, after I specifically told them I would not be back in the afternoon and flying out of work as soon as I parked. I had no choice but to go, or lose my CDL and our girl passed away in her own bed in our living room without her momma holding her, her daddy was with her. I walked in about 90 seconds after she took her last breath. I never forgave them for that.
