@5plusbellablue: Before anyone hears what I’m NOT saying: Massachusetts’ history does not prove who is guilty or innocent. What it DOES do is make me question why we’re expected to treat every investigation and prosecution as infallible. ⚖️ 98 people have been exonerated in Massachusetts since 1990, representing approximately 1,379 years of wrongful incarceration. 🧪 Massachusetts’ drug-lab scandals ultimately resulted in 61,000+ drug charges being dismissed across 37,000+ cases. 🚔 Massachusetts State Police has faced documented misconduct scandals, including a federal overtime-fraud investigation that resulted in convictions. Federal prosecutors said records were shredded and burned in an effort to conceal the fraud. 📁 Massachusetts wrongful-conviction cases have involved FAVRICATED EVIDENCE, SUPPRESSED EVIDENCE and false confessions. Some people lost decades of their lives before being exonerated. ⚖️ And in 2026, Karen Read filed a civil lawsuit against Massachusetts State Police and Canton Police alleging a “culture of bias and corruption.” Those are allegations in a lawsuit—not established findings. So no, none of this can explain what happened inside the Clancy home. But when I look at Massachusetts’ documented history AND the things that have bothered me about how the Lindsay Clancy case was investigated and presented? It makes me ask MORE questions, not fewer. You can believe Lindsay committed these acts and STILL believe she was entitled to a competent, unbiased investigation and a fair trial. You can question an investigation without declaring someone innocent. And you can believe something probably happened while still asking whether the State actually proved its version beyond a reasonable doubt. Those things can exist at the same time.
