@drdeborahparenting: When getting out the door to go to childcare takes five reminders, your child has learned that the first instruction is not the instruction that matters. Here's what to do instead. Pick one departure time. Ten minutes before, say: "We leave at 7:45. When the timer goes off, put on your shoes, pick up your bag, and meet me at the door." At 7:45, when the timer goes off, say once: "Time to leave. Shoes on, bag in hand, meet me at the door." Then follow through. Every morning with consistent execution, your child learns that the first instruction starts the sequence. Shoes. Bag. Door. That is when a morning routine starts operating like a system. If your home still requires you to repeat, remind, and manage every transition, click the link in my bio. I'll show you how to install parenting systems your child knows how to execute. #ParentingTips #ParentCoach #ParentSupport #ParentingCommunity #Parenting

Start this at 2 years old. The first few mornings will run slower than reminding them would. That's the system installing. If you're the one giving five reminders before 7:45: set the timer, give the sequence once, then let the timer carry it.

Can you make a similar video about sleeping routine... What about when kid is in bed but finds thousand excuses for me to enter the room like "mommy water, mommy toilet, mommy hug, mommy kiss etc." and bedtime takes 1hour?
