@lovemealways38: Northwest Hospital, I’m going to need you all to do better. I was involved in a bus accident today and was transported to Northwest Hospital by ambulance. After reviewing my discharge paperwork, I noticed several serious inaccuracies in my medical record. First, the blood pressure listed on my discharge paperwork is not mine. It appears to be the blood pressure of another young woman who was also transported in the ambulance. My blood pressure was never actually taken while I was at the hospital. A blood pressure cuff was placed on me, but it was never turned on because the staff member was pulled away to attend to something else. Second, my discharge paperwork states that the injury involved the right side of my body. That is incorrect. My injuries were on the left side of my body, and the X-rays that were performed were also of the left side. I do not understand how the right side ended up documented on my discharge paperwork. I understand that emergency departments are busy, and I understand that staff can become distracted when dealing with multiple patients. However, that does not make these types of errors acceptable. Patient vitals and medical documentation need to accurately reflect the individual patient being treated. I would also like to thank the staff members I did encounter today. They were kind and treated me respectfully during my visit, and I genuinely appreciate that. #hospital #bus #Maryland
