IF THIS WAS A BLACK WOMAN, these liberal white women would NOT be standing behind her. Let’s say this OUT LOUD. This is privilege.

That’s why I’m so confused on people saying she didn’t have “enough help”. I have never seen a woman have as much help as she has.

Don’t forget she also had privilege of having both grandparents alive and willing to help

I get mad when they keep saying everyone failed her. She literally had the whole village helping her & she refused to listen to any of it. Most women will never know that kind of help.

I pointed out to a defender that Lindsay had more access to help than most people could dream and they said all that access actually made her worse because she was so desperate for help and able to doctor hop. so she's even a victim of her privilege apparently

Who Is She :
She was on 13 psych meds in 4 months and she communicated actively that she didn’t feel like it was helping. She was definitely failed

I saw someone write that mothers in wars and poverty would NEVER think about harming their children and they are WAAAAY less privileged and more failed than LC

Some of this is not privilege it’s bad care. Can’t believe none of these providers spoke to each other. I say this as a psychiatrist

Exactly, people who don’t recognize Lindsay’s immense privilege are naive and delusional.

as someone with 4 kids as an indigenous woman. im scared to seek help. im afraid theyll use my depression (never a thought of harming myself and definitely not my kids) against me and take my kids.

She told her husband and mom about her thoughts but not the one person that could’ve helped her, yea maybe they would’ve put you in a hospital so you didn’t hurt your kids, but it would’ve been worth their lives? I don’t get it.

And yet with all that privilege, she still did not get the medical care that she needed. Psychiatric medication should not be changed that frequently in a short span of time and not heavily monitored. And while I understand the sentiment here think about what you’re saying if with all her money and access she still couldn’t get good postpartum depression care what do you think It’s like for the rest of us?

THANK YOU!!! I work in community mental health and people saying the system failed her makes my blood boil. She had an astounding amount of ROBUST healthcare compared to the populations I work with
