We were staying at my father's while hurricane damage to our house was being repaired. I subconsciously started walking this specific way I used to, to move silently through the house. I ended up with a stress fracture in a boot within a wk. That physical reminder was needed to give myself grace for teenage me showing up so furiously, my body remembers things that my brain hides from me

Yup! It is exhausting walking into a parents home with emotionally immature parents. I just don’t even do it anymore. I’m almost a 50 year old woman and I don’t allow ppl to yell at me or explode on me and I’m certainly not allowing my Mom, Dad or siblings to not respect healthy boundaries
