The city groaned beneath the weight of its ruin as I hid in the shell of a toppled apartment, the air thick with dust and dread. Broken glass clung to the walls like jagged frost, and every breath I took tasted of smoke and rust. Outside, the creature’s shadow stretched across the shattered streets a black, writhing mass that swallowed what little light was left in the crimson sky. Its movements were slow but deliberate, each step shaking the earth like distant thunder, each exhale rolling through the ruins in waves of heat and decay. Every time it moved, buildings rumbled and collapsed under their own broken bones, raining debris that fell so close I could feel the wind of it brush my face. I pressed myself deeper into the corner, the stench of mold and burned concrete filling my nose, and pressed a trembling hand over my mouth. Through a jagged crack in the wall, I saw its eye, unblinking, glistening like a pool of oil sweeping the rubble for movement. My heart hammered so violently I thought it would give me away. Then came the sound. A low, rattling shriek that rose from its throat like metal grinding against metal, echoing through the hollow streets and shaking the city’s corpse. The walls around me vibrated, beams snapping, glass exploding as the noise swelled into a deafening wail. Dust poured from the ceiling, coating my hair and skin, and I had to bite down hard on my sleeve to keep from screaming. The shriek died down, but the silence that followed was worse. I could hear the faint crunch of its claws dragging across the pavement, closer now, testing, listening. Somewhere outside, a distant car alarm flickered weakly to life before being snuffed out by another quake of its step. I didn’t dare move. Didn’t dare breathe. Even when it left, I stayed there, still in fear. #fyp #horror #creepy #scarystories #analoghorror
