@just__gagan: Today was the first pickup of our Community Group Buy and it went amazing. 160 families pooled their grocery money together so we could buy fresh food directly and in bulk. Everyone got nectarines, plums, pears and fresh local raspberries. Each family spent about $28. I priced out the same amount of fruit at Superstore and it would have cost around $72. That’s about $44 saved on one pickup. But the coolest part was watching everyone work together. People came from Vancouver, Burnaby, Chilliwack and all over the Fraser Valley. They brought their bags, weighed out their share, helped each other and went home with some seriously fresh fruit. No grocery store. Just 160 families pooling their money and buying food together. And this was only pickup #1. It feels like the start of something beautiful. a way back to community. Want to be part of what we’re building?
