I was 17 years old. Senior in high school, living in Arizona. Had the radio on while I was getting ready for school. The radio hosts who were usually laughing and joking sounded very solemn. I thought it was a prank at first until I turned on the tv. Both towers had been hit. I drove to school and we watched the news all day on tv, in every class. My history teacher was crying. My choir teacher told us to watch closely and remember this day because history was being made. A girl in one of my classes was panicking because her dad was flying that day and she was pretty sure he wasn’t on one of the planes that crashed, but the news reports were saying that all flights were being grounded at the closest airports and she had no idea where he was. I think once the phone lines were back up the next day he was able to call her and tell her he was safe. It was all surreal and very sad but I had no idea the effect it would have on the U.S. and its future.

I was 9 and every year I can still see hear the principal coming over the PA, remember my teacher Mrs. Newman turning the TV on as it hung above the door in the corner of the room and watching the world fall apart. At first we thought it was an accident. Ill never forget watching that second plane hit. We Will NEVER Forget!

I was 18. I watched the second plane hit the second tower live on tv. I watched people jump from those towers on live tv. I heard the bangs when their bodies hit the ground. I watched those towers fall on live tv and I saw people running away as those debris clouds engulfed the city. And I watched America cry, embrace each other, and come together…. I will NEVER forget.
