Sweetheart, I’m an older woman who has raised children close in age and has been a stay-at-home wife and mom, so believe me when I say I’ve learned not to rush or put so much pressure on yourself. ❤️If you wake up one day and you’re just not in the mood to cook, clean, or be productive, that’s okay! Call your friends, get out of the house with the kids, go somewhere with your husband, or simply do something that makes you happy. Your husband is your partner, not another person you have to take care of.
And please don’t tell yourself, “I’m a stay-at-home wife, so it’s my responsibility to carry the whole load.” It’s not! You two are a team, and a team can’t work when one person is carrying everything while the other watches.
When I was a stay-at-home wife and mom, my husband would tell me, “Go do something for yourself. Go out with your friends. Leave the house!” 😂 He wanted me happy, because he knew that if I was constantly overwhelmed, depressed, or putting unrealistic pressure on myself, it affected both of us.
He never expected a spotless house or a home-cooked meal every single day. He didn’t expect me to cater to him. What he wanted was to come home to a peaceful home—someone he could talk to about his bad day, watch a movie with, laugh with, and enjoy life with.
So sweetheart, take care of YOU, too. ❤️You don’t have to do everything every day. Give yourself permission to rest, have fun, get out of the house, and let your husband step in with the kids. You deserve that, and your family will benefit from having a happier, more relaxed you. 🥰
