@clinicaltherapist: Emergency contraceptive pills have a failure window. It’s not effective through out the menstrual cycle. It looses its efficacy during and after ovulation within the 24 hours after the egg has been released. Taking the emergency contraceptive pills during this period is insignificant and useless because the pills is designed to delay the release of an egg to prevent pregnancy but once ovulation has taken place already it loses its efficacy.
