@thefertilitysurgeon: Does endometriosis always worsen over time? Should I worry about endometriosis spreading to other organs if I don’t urgently pursue surgery? The answer is that endometriosis can certainly progress in some patients, though studies have not been able to predict who will develop severe disease and who will have stable lesions over time. Endometriosis lesions on imaging do not necessarily correlate with symptoms. So some patients may have debilitating worsening pain, but imaging may appear unchanged. Others may have “silent endometriosis” with asymptomatic disease that can lead to scarring and organ dysfunction without major pain symptoms. I am interested in studying progression of disease over time, which requires following my patients prospectively before and after surgery and other treatments. #endometriosis #fertilitydoctor #endometriosisawareness #endometriosissurgery #ivf

How can I get my Dr to take me seriously when I have concerns about Endo? Or even Peri- "Im too young" they say. 39 and neurodivergent. I have so much pain. Already diagnosed with PMDD and PCOS. I have tracked for months and months and they just will not give me any resolution or testing. :(

I have “silent” DIE that was diagnosed through ultrasound and MRI. I’m still trying to decide if I should have surgery since my MRI shows my colon is tethered to my uterus 😩 I’m scared that it will get worse.

I had my lap surgery in June. I’m 29 had problems with fertility and a lot of pain. I haven’t been able to conceive yet but my surgeon told me if i don’t conceive by october i need to see a fertility specialist to talk about my options. I had stage 4 endo. Any recommendations? And also any thoughts why I only have 3 months to try naturally? 😭

it seems like such a basic part of knowledge to have about a disease but "we just don't know because women are a medical fuckin mystery" is way too common
