The "still waiting" package makes the most sense to have come from a former lover (teen years, maybe) holding out hope that they reconnect. Old photo of the house when they dated (maybe the tree was significant to their courtship). Key to the house that he gave her. Flowers he gifted that she pressed and dried. Maybe she saw activity at the house and thought there was a chance he came back.

The explanation doesn’t make sense though bc why would the neighbors be weird about it when they started asking questions and why would they all run from them? This doesn’t quite make sense at all.

He finally was saved he started a fire and the fire department discovered him. It was so sad he was a grown man now but starved and only weighed 60 lbs. . . .

I was thinking Robert could’ve been the mother’s husband or boyfriend & maybe she did something to him that nobody knew about. That would explain why she kept telling people he wasn’t there or was out of town. Idk though, just my little theory lol.

Each to their own and all, but I went in the completely opposite direction to the homeowners thoughts. I’m surprised that this is what they settled on. Feels like Robert is dead and Mother dearest tried hard to hide the fact. Strange story, wish there was a part to to this 😂
