Do you have home owners or renters insurance? You can list everything that was in the fridge and freezer and they might be able to give you money for that. I have done that with the hurricanes.

Not assuming you’re on food stamps but if anyone in here is and you lose power for over 4 hours, get in touch with your local job and family service and let them know you were without power. They will send you a paper to fill out just like your information and the estimated dollar amount you lost. Ask for your caseworkers email address so you can take a picture of the paper, screenshot of the text or email you get saying you lost power and one for when it says power restored. I say email because that’s what mine told me to do as it’s faster than sending it in the mail. You will be reimbursed within 24 hrs.

that is not a helicopter mom!! that is a mom who needed protection/saving as a child & didn't get it!...well at least in my case anyways. I'm completely unhinged when it comes to my kids, nothing is off the table & no one can protect them better than I can or make them feel as safe as I can (mostly because they know how psycho I will become for them) they know theyre going home alive 😂

in my state I think there is a program through consumers where you can fill out a form for loss of food because of loss of power to get reimbursed. if you have the recent receipt it would help... or it's the house insurance you talk to. im unsure. but if someone here knows what im thinking of please help. I only know of someone who had to do this so im iffy on details

my mom wasn't a helicopter parent but she felt the same as you when it comes to travel and us being separated. we are both adults and she is still that way

I'm on the state line near Orange and my bd is pretty close to yall and their power was off for a couple days 😭 Be safe out there!! Also my mom was the same way as a band parent it was really nice to always have to have that support especially since we were a 2A school and played teams so far away.
