There is something so visceral about this version. It hits me in the pit of my stomach and pulls. The original has a very light ethereal feel and it’s beautiful, but maphras version is peak emotional distress and pain.

I saw a comment yesterday saying that the original is someone that has gone through trauma and was reconciled to it. This version is someone that's actively going through it and still can't believe how painful it is. Feels right to me.
