maybe just on that smaller side, shave down the trim vertically and make it a little skinnier. you'll know it's there but it won't be super noticeable bc it blends in.

Idk is this will be helpful or not, but when I was putting drywall pieces around some bedroom doors and the space wasn’t the same all the way down was I’d measure from the biggest gap to the smallest and just cut as I went down with the measurements on the pieces of drywall and somehow it fit perfectly around the door since nothing was the same width

Oh girl, do I feel your pain, hanging and framing a door is so much harder than you would ever imagine. It was one of the hardest parts of finishing my basement. Especially when you’re doing it by yourself.
