Replying to @fantic_hugoww Worked for 3m 18s techniahqrobot on x This small humanoid robot is being pushed far beyond a normal walking demo. The test begins with direct impacts and repeated disturbances. A person swings a wooden stick toward the robot while the machine tries to stay upright, protect its posture and recover its balance. When it falls, the key is how the control system handles the loss of stability, how quickly the joints react and whether the robot can reduce damage during contact with the ground. Humanoid robots are difficult to control because every movement affects the whole body. A sudden hit on the shoulder changes the position of the torso, hips, knees and feet at the same time. The robot must estimate its orientation, detect joint position, calculate a response and send torque commands to several motors within milliseconds. A slow reaction can turn a small disturbance into a complete collapse. This type of test matters because clean laboratory walking is only one part of real-world robotics. A machine working in a factory, warehouse, school or public space may face slippery floors, uneven surfaces, accidental contact, moving objects and unexpected human behavior. Engineers need to know what happens when the robot is disturbed, not only when every condition is perfect. The video also shows an important limit. Surviving an impact does not prove that a humanoid robot understands the situation. It does not automatically demonstrate general intelligence, independent decision-making or safe operation around people. What we can observe is physical robustness, balance control and recovery behavior under a controlled disturbance. Those are valuable capabilities, but they are only part of a complete robotic system. Durability involves more than a strong outer shell. The motors, gearboxes, bearings, cables, batteries, sensors and onboard computer must continue working after vibration and impact. The software also needs safe fall behavior, joint limits, emergency stopping and reliable recovery routines. A robot that stands up quickly but swings its limbs unpredictably could still create a safety risk. Serious testing should measure both performance and safety. How much force can the structure absorb? Can the robot detect that a person is close? Does it reduce motor power before falling? Can an operator stop it instantly? Are the results repeated across many trials? One dramatic demonstration can look impressive, but repeatability is what turns a prototype into dependable hardware. Compact humanoids are useful research platforms because developers can study locomotion, reinforcement learning, robot perception, motion planning and human-robot interaction without using a full-size machine. Smaller platforms can still reveal major problems in dynamic balance, sim-to-real transfer, actuator control and recovery after disturbances. The next step should be controlled behavior: remain balanced when possible, fall safely when necessary, avoid people, protect critical components and recover only when the area is clear. Would you trust a humanoid robot more after seeing this durability test, or does this aggressive testing make you more concerned about how powerful these machines could become?
