They ring a bell on the 1st day of school for the 1st graders and then on the last day they ring a bell for those who have finished school (9th, 12th grade) which has its own event. Full circle!

I moved from Latvia to England when I was 5 and when I started my class I brought my teacher flowers, she was really surprised but also happy !

True but sad in uk not like that but I do same if i take mine kids in school i give tham flowers i say in latvia that normally is respect to give teachers flowers but fast time no izzy because mother in uk don't no how many teachers one grup work but I love to see teachers smile the get flowers the understand I only do that because in mine cantry that is normally to do.

at some point education is forced. at first grade they feel like they finally are grown enough to go to school around 5. grade you feel like you had enough but there's nothing else you can do. only closer to graduation some of them start to realize that they are doing that for themselves not for parents or teachers.
