Because they are referred to only using ‘she /her pronouns -and ruby is apart of a fusion thats literal lesbian representation-so changing ruby’s pronouns, would be erasing to that part of the representation / story and what the writers on the show were going for. Thats literally why they needed to end the show after three episodes because cartoon network were mad there was a gay wedding (you know-because sapphire and ruby are supposed to be lesbian representation- and is featured in pride month every month by cartoon network)
