ok i’ve said my piece (of toast🤭) goodnight <3 (for the bread) you’ll need: - 500g strong white bread flour - 10g fine salt - 8g fast action dried yeast - 3tbsp olive oil (optional) - 300-350ml lukewarm water (you may need a little more or less) (for the butter): - 300ml double cream - 3/4tsp sea salt or (1/2tsp fine salt) method: 1. begin by placing the flour, yeast and salt in a large bowl. make sure the yeast and salt are on seperate sides of the bowl and are not touching. 2. make a well in the centre and pour in the olive oil and half of the water. 3. mix together until it begins to come together - add extra water gradually until you are able to form a dough. 4. once you have formed a dough, knead on a clean surface for about 10-15 minutes or until beautifully smooth and elastic. 5. place into a lightly oiled bowl and cover with a tea towel. leave to proof in a warm area for about 1hr - 1.5hrs or until doubled in size. 6. meanwhile, whisk the cream in a large bowl (my bowl was too small lol!) until it has over-whipped and split. you should see liquid separating from the bulk. 7. place the mixture through a fine sieve / mesh cloth and strain all of the liquid out. 8. discard of the liquid and place the solid butter into a bowl. add in the salt and mix through as thoroughly as you can. 9. place into your serving dish of choice! 10. once the bread has doubled in size, collapse onto a clean surface and punch out all of the air. 11. fold all of the corners into the centre and flip the dough over to the smooth side. 12. using both hands, cup underneath the dough and twist in quarters. keep repeating these steps until you form a lovely smooth ball. 13. place the dough into a lined 900g loaf tin and cover with a tea towel. leave to proof for 30 minutes. 14. once proofed, score lightly using a sharp knife (optional) and sprinkle with a little flour. 15. bake at 220c for 30 minutes. 16. remove from the oven and tip the loaf out of the tin. leave to cool on a cooling rack for at least 15 minutes. 17. slice into thick slices and toast in the toaster (or just leave it fresh!). 18. serve warm and top generously with your homemade butter… enjoy xxx🍞🧈 #toast #chic #EasyRecipes #bread #breakfast
