@gelaenemoreland: Replying to @gelaenemoreland part 2! #solotravelling #solotravel #humantraffickingawareness #humantrafficking human trafficking awareness
I haven’t seen the video from the other girl, but I will say this. Human trafficking is rarely a crime of opportunity. It far more often involves grooming someone from a vulenrable background and a tourist who likely has a family who cares where they are is unlikely target as it’s took risky for the trafficker. If something sketch was going to happen your thought of maybe robbery would be far more likely. Don’t know if that helps your anxiety.

Nah I don’t trust that this guy wasn’t involved, like you said he was there with you on all trains, he was across from you and that second guy came and sat near him, etc. I think when he clocked you he was probably surprised bc he and his buddies thought you got off the train and now you were closer to the train driver to get help so he won’t bother get them to come back

no one has ever regretted taking their safety seriously. Many have regretted not moving or not being aware of their surroundings.
I also think the other guy was in on it too, it's just too sus

Always and I mean always go with your gutt feeling. HT is happening everywhere. I didn’t go to Europe, but when the Barbie movie came out, my friends I went to see it. Movie finished at 8pm, I walked to my car and noticed a white delivery van parked right next to my car, engine on driver inside.. his car door slightly opened. Mind you there were plenty of car spots he could hv parked in. I walked bk into the shopping centre & had a security guard walk me to my car. As soon as he saw the security guard with me, he spend off.

Situational awareness is vital. You need to trust your intuition and how you feel in your body. This will keep you safe. Oftentimes we are so engrossed with our phones or listening to music to be aware of what’s going on around us.Trust your senses.

Echoing others, think the first guy you “clocked” may have been a lookout. Spots the mark and calls in the rest of the crew to target and collect.

biggest thing I learnt as a solo female traveler... ALWAYS trust your gut. I had to learn this the hard way after getting myself into a sticky situation.

You did good, better safe than sorry. Next time you travel alone, don't have everything on your phone, always have backup money/card and information on you in case someone takes your phone. It's what I do travelling alone. And keep being alert, not anxious, just aware of your surroundings, your instincts will keep you safe. Safe travels 💜

There’s no such thing as being dramatic about staying safe. You’re not willing to take risks and that is absolutely 100% the right move

This sounds like either two luggage thieves scoping out whose bags they can take OR a few friends without tickets trying to avoid getting caught by the ticket inspector. I saw the latter on almost all the trains I took in France this summer.

I had a similar experience on a train from Melbourne to Geelong in Australia after coming home from travelling solo overseas for years. I did the same hop-off, hop-on manoeuvre you did. Difference was the dodgy guy followed me off the train and didn’t get back on in time. As a solo female with luggage makes you a target for all sorts

I hope this video reaches more people much like the other videos too. Regardless of whether human trafficking or another crime, solo travellers should be more aware of their surroundings. On my solo trips so far I have been safe, and I hope other girls (and guys) are safe too.

I know you struggle with anxiety but… plz stop being so hard on yourself! You weren’t safe. You were a woman traveling alone in a country you don’t know. Adult men know how to make a woman feel comfortable. They weren’t. That’s enough to be mad. I’m glad you won’t let this stop u from traveling.

Human trafficking is horrible where I live. The mall is a hub for it. It is scary. And this isn’t something I made up, I had training for my job.
