The new thing is flying with Jet 2 a few weeks ago they said nobody is allowed to use charging blocks during the flight! Never heard this before

It’s to prevent interference with the radio signals and ATC! You are able to use WiFi however if the plane has it

It’s literally about stopping your phone constantly trying to connect to signal towers you fly over. It’s drains you battery

Someone once said it’s because we’re moving so fast and so high up that our phone can’t keep up with who is providing us with service to be able to charge us correctly

The big thing now is power banks; lithium batteries are notorious for overheating. Non EU models are at a much higher risk of bursting into flames

I can’t explain it to you but I can confirm never in my life have I put my phone on aeroplane mode and I survived every flight… so far 😏

I worked for an airline, bad weather (fog etc) can affect communication and computer signals, so flight mode can ease those signals and direct straight to the aircraft, rather than 300+ electronic devices, it won’t bring the plane down, its communication systems it can affect, something or other 🤣 best answer I have but it made sense explained by the people who know 🤣
