@ryan.oreilly4: For most soldiers worried about passing the AFT, the biggest stress is the 2-mile. - If that’s you, start doing these 2 runs every week: - Workout 1: 400m repeats Run 4–6 x 400m at a pace slightly faster than your goal 2-mile pace. Rest 90–120 seconds between each rep. The goal is to get comfortable running faster than the pace you actually need on test day. - Workout 2: Easy aerobic run Run 25–40 minutes at an easy, conversational pace. - This builds the aerobic base you need to hold your pace for the full 2 miles without falling apart in the second half. - Don’t make every run a max-effort 2-mile test.
