𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳?" It justifies the value of the study to different stakeholders. 𝗣𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲 It moves beyond describing what you're studying to explaining 𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘪𝘵'𝘴 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘩 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 — the contribution it makes and who benefits from it. 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 1️⃣ 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹/𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 ✅ Fills a gap in existing literature ✅ Extends, tests, or challenges an existing theory or framework ✅ Contributes new knowledge to the field 2️⃣ 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹/𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 ✅ Informs practitioners, policymakers, or industry professionals ✅ Offers solutions to real-world problems ✅ Guides decision-making or intervention design 3️⃣ 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 ✅ Introduces or refines a research method, tool, or approach ✅ Demonstrates a novel application of an existing method in a new context 𝟰.
