Automechanics, woodworkers, etc. drill out areas and interference fit the same material. For wood they use wood glue also. Not a professional but I learned it and do it.

If you use match sticks you shoukd be using wood glue, i prefer chop sticks. Golf tees are round, less grip

HELLO! I’m a handyman for more than 8 years and I work for a known company in my area, you can fix this problem just filling the holes with more wood, you basically just cut small “bastón” pieces from a wood shim (enough to fit in the holes), then use a hammer and put the wood in. Make sure is tight. Then put back the door hinges and screws. YOURE WELCOME. Follow me for more home improvement tips and videos of my jobs. 👷🏼♂️🙌🏼✌🏼
