@itsmrskelly: Every version… I saw this quote the other day, but everywhere I read it was in the past tense. I have a problem imagining the past as the only thing that needs affirmation or acceptance. Who we are, who we were, and who we are becoming - all of them - require grace and compassion. The present is such an important inclusion in acceptance, and it’s often omitted, unintentionally. Some of us imagine that the worst version of ourselves is behind us, but that gives credence to a dangerous thought: that only what’s behind us is bad. We always strive for greatness, and betterment, that’s what life is like… but some people endure so much new grief, or circumstances they’ve never had to manage before, and they do things, become people, different to what we expect or know. And this applies to all of us. Every single version of you deserves love and kindness.
