To everyone obsessing over his Indian accent: if you think you could do the job better, you should’ve applied instead of sitting in the comments whining about how he speaks. I’ve dealt with officers with very heavy Eastern European accents and never once thought their accent determined their competence. Funny how an accent only becomes a “problem” when it belongs to someone you’ve already decided you don’t like. That’s not concern about policing, that’s prejudice dressed up as criticism.
