Everyone saying "They didn't let Chris watch the film." Actually, Chris refused to sign an NDA which is why they couldn't let him see it. EVERY. SINGLE. PERSON. In the production of the film, including Patterson, has to sign an NDA. This isn't a new thing. He simply can't be involved if he's going to go run his mouth and ruin the film that they spent millions on producing

why is everyone suddenly so up in arms over Chris Hansen? not too long ago people didn't like him because of how his "investigations" actually made it harder to properly catch predators. there was entire discourse over how the show was actually problematic and now we're like boooo robert Pattinson. what is happening

I don’t think people understand that actors are not involved in any of these conversation conversations and he showed up to set thinking all was kosher. He was actually embarrassed by the studio for the studio, not doing their part and making sure that all proper avenues were handled.

Imo Robert did a good job explaining the larger conversation we can have about thee impact of this show. I dig Chris Hansen, but that show was not about Chris—and the impact of the show ripples through our culture in ways beyond the core focus of the show.

Its obviously an awkward situation because it doesnt seem like a its a generous biopic on Chris Hansen as much as its a portrayal of someones use of the scandelous to create a name for themselves under the guise of being a righteous crusader. The trailer doesnt portray him in an especially good light. It looks like its going to through the lens of someone doing some good things, but more for personal gain and causing his own controversies on the way to fame. So it makes sense that RP wouldnt feel the need to meet him and Hansen wouldnt be a fan of the film
