@nssastronomy2: 🎆 Fireworks Galaxy through my DWARFMINI smart telescope Fireworks Galaxy (NGC 6946) is located about 22 million light-years away. It earned the nickname “Fireworks Galaxy” because of its extremely high rate of supernovae, making it resemble bursts of fireworks constantly exploding across the universe. So far, 10 supernovae have been recorded in NGC 6946, while our Milky Way is estimated to produce only around 1–2 supernovae per century. I used my DWARFMINI to capture this galaxy. The total exposure time was over one hour, including frames I captured the previous day.
