Threaded or expanding anchors can handle more weight, but when we really need strength and can’t hit a stud, we’re usually reaching for a toggle-style anchor that grabs behind the drywall and spreads out the load. What anchor should I use if the gap between the drywall and the cinderblock behind it is less than an inch? The bigger metal ones are too long, and the metal bolt ones have screws that are too long. Should I just use tapcons into the cinderblock?
