@awesome_earthmovers: Some footage of the Komatsu 930E at 2024’s MINExpo Komatsu launched the Power Agnostic 930E haul truck at the show. It weighs 320-short-tons unladen (290,000 kg) capacity mining and represented a major step toward decarbonisation in the mining industry. Unlike a conventional diesel mining truck that is locked into one fuel source for its entire lifespan, the Power Agnostic 930E features a flexible, modular chassis designed to change with evolving technology. It allows mining operations to start with a standard diesel engine today, but later swap it out for battery-electric, hydrogen fuel cell, or diesel trolley assist powertrains without buying a completely new truck. It replaces rigid mechanical drivetrains with a high-voltage, liquid-cooled electrical system, allowing it to adapt to whatever green energy source a mine adopts in the future.
