Never had a fig tree but I remember that my grandpa used to bury his fig tree in the winter in Northeast Ohio.

I’m in northern nj how are you able to grow it. I’m told you can’t leave it out in the winter. Can you tell me how you take care of the tree please. I’d love to grow one. I love fresh figs

My grandfather used to wrap his fig tree every year. We lived in Central NJ. I love em too. I remember eating them as a very small girl. Do you wrap your tree in winter?

We had so many fig trees growing up. My Dad got some little trees and brought them over to Canada. My parents would cover them up with heavy tarp. Despite the cold winters the trees would survive year after year. After my parents psssed away I couldn’t manage the trees. I use to eat figs by the platefuls.

You’re not doing anything wrong as far as I know from my dad I think it blooms like every second year don’t quote me, but I think that’s what my father used to tell me

Looks amazing. Growing up my neighbor gave my mom a fig tree from his town in Italy. I remember it for years being wrapped in plastic all winter. My mom loved it. I never did as a kid, now I love. When she passed away my dad never kept up with it. Wish I had it now.

A little bit I know about fig trees is that they have strict climate needs, and the pollination changes a lot. You have to keep them wrapped, which I know you know that in the winter.. my girlfriend‘s father used to grow figs. He had the gold and black figs and some seasons, It was really good now this past year we had that horrible ice. I don’t think it’s anything you’ll really be able to control. I remember my girlfriend‘s father used to say the fig prayer. I don’t remember it. half of it was in Italian, but he swore if he forgot to say that his figs wouldn’t come back real good the next year. ✌️👍
