@rollingwithjess: How does an amputee put a prosthetic leg on? Heres how! VD: Jess is a 20 year old white female withe brown hair clipped back. She is explaining how she puts on her prosthetic leg. Her prosthetic leg is a pink socket, with a metal leg going into a pink shoe. She puts two white socks on. Then shows a peach colour liner, she puts that on and pulls a white sock over the top. She picks up her leg and puts it infront of her, she slides her leg with the liner on into the leg, she then pulls a tan colour stretchy fabric tube over her leg to keep the leg on properly and then covers it with her trouser leg. She stands up then sits back down. Text reads “How do amputees put a prosthetic leg on?” End VD. #amputee #accessibility #disabled #tmramputation #prosthetics
I use 1 sock mostly for the air trap sound but I do have a silicon sock as i need protection cause of my leg damage from accident ....I always say putting on false leg is like people putting on a brand new shoe every day

I always assumed it was the bottom of the stump that was taking the weight is it uncomfortable at the bits that take the weight since that part of your leg isnt really made for weight bearing or does the padding like distribute the weight?

Does it hurt to wear the prosthetic? Or is it just a bit uncomfortable and you get use to it and adapt to the weight of wearing it and eventually walking in another prosthetic? Thanks ☺️

Cool! I don’t see a lot of patellar tendon bearing sockets here in the US! All of my teammates either use suspension, suction, or pin lock! Maybe it’s a UK thing?
