I’m not a financial expert but I am trying to decide if I should buy a house in the next 6 months. With all the financial and political instability in the US I can’t figure out what the best decision is. Help!

Sophie's choice, we are screwed either way. Let's end massive defense spending and live within our means.

Inflation is caused by government spending! We don’t have a revenue problem, we have a spending problem!

@shedde :
The problem started when Bush an the Republican Party cut taxes while starting two wars. Clinton left them with a balanced budget and Republicans were arguing that we need debt to service the monetary system.

I’m taking door number 3. The one where you tax the trillionaire and the billionaires who are hoarding all the dollars.

Should’ve jacked the rates up 2 years ago to kill the inflation and take the 18 month recession. But they didn’t and now we’re here

I love the both sides perspective. How about acknowledging that cutting taxes on the wealthy so that they could invest in new businesses so that we could grow our way out of debt was a flawed plan. It didn’t work the first time, the second time or the third time. But the good news is- the wealthy are wealthier. That was always the goal.

40 YEARS of bad decisions, by BOTH sides!! 👏👏 people will gloss over this and blame the other side. The US doesn’t have a taxing problem, we have a spending problem. We MUST cut spending. And that certainly means cutting programs that EVERY viewer thinks is too sacred to cut.

That’s what a lot of people don’t understand. 40 years of bad decisions mean that we no longer have the option of choosing between good and bad outcomes. What we’re left with is bad and worse outcomes.

I like listening to what you say. But “terrible decisions by both parties”. Be honest and tell us which presidents blew up the budget and which tried to keep it in check. You are part of the problem if you can't speak truthfully

But inflation isn’t high due to demand inflation is high due to BS tariffs so what do you do with that? We still need to eat?

The Trump administration will want the people to pay higher prices, basically eat the cost and who cares if we lose everything. Get ready Americans!

Sounds like it’s time to start making the 1% pay their fair share of taxes along with reigning in our unnecessary spending. Seems like an easy solution.

It sounds like we're gonna take the hit regardless? No matter what happens, it's our tax money that's going to bail whoever out. That's the only economic certainty since the 80s

Really feels like they’re stalling and waiting to time this implosion right as they leave office and Dems take power. In a purely political play that feels like the smartest thing for them to do to protect their party and continue winning elections in the future. They’ve kinda already did it before you still see people complain about Obama bc of the recession

They should have let the house of cards collapse in 2008. Would have been ugly but way better than the road they are traveling down now. This will not end well!
