Nuyorican born in bushwick, just like my parents before me but my paternal grandmother who came here in the 50s/60s came to LES and Los sures (south side of Williamsburg) first then Bushwick and my maternal grandmother came to Bushwick. I was sent alone on a flight every single summer for 15 years from the last day of school till the first day of school to stay with my grandfather and great grandparents in Puerto Rico, (Aguadilla and Ponce). I work at el puente. Great video

When my family migrated from PR in 1940’s, my grandparents moved to El Barrio where my welo was a super. My grandmother’s sister moved to the LES. My mom spent her childhood back & forth between both neighborhoods. I’m a Nuyorican from El Barrio. Spanish Harlem shaped the woman I am today.

I don't think I heard you mention about Graham Ave (Pronounced Gra-Ham by local Puerto Ricans) Ave of Puerto Rico was added in 1982 I consider this part Bushwick, but there are some who would argue Williamsburg.
