@therealhg: One year ago today, I was signing the papers and loading up a U-Haul trying to get “my life” back. Going back to the drawing board, yet again. I’ve had to start my life over more times than I’d like to count and I had no clue what this next chapter would hold. But this time was different… I KNEW in my soul I needed to get myself out of where I was, find my way back to something that felt like me again, and keep fighting for the life and the people that mattered most to me. I was truly clawing my way out of one chapter while fighting for another. I didn’t know what was coming or how any of it was going to turn out… but I knew it was the most important chapter of my life thus far.. and the one we needed. All I had to do was start writing it… Waking up here a year later, this feels like so much more than just the anniversary of buying a home. It feels like a homecoming. Like I’ve found my way back to a life I thought I had lost forever. Reflecting on the last year and realizing I’m living the life I was fighting so damn hard for… I don’t think I realized until this morning just how far I’ve come.
