“Actively seek out their owners for comfort and safety” One of the fire alarms in my house had low battery so it was beeping, and my parents weren’t home to change it immediately. It was incredibly loud, and clearly was distressing my poor cat Nix, who ran to hide in my room while I remained in the loft (where the alarm was a lot closer to, and therefore louder.) She suddenly came running back out into the loft to where I was, still scared as shit, but not leaving my side. I realized she was actively coming to me for comfort, even though it was louder where I was rather than in my room, so I picked her up and brought her back to my room where I stayed with her.

YES THANK YOU the only time my old cats would scratch me were when I was accidentally in there way and when I was in there bubble but RIGHT after scratching me they would rub all up in me and meow at my door like they were apologizing (rip tiger you were a sweet boy) also sorry for my grammar I wasn't fully taught how to do it
