If you're waiting for a time when nobody will criticise you, you'll probably spend your entire life waiting. You start a business, and someone tells you it's a terrible idea. You start taking your religion more seriously, and people question why you've changed. You put yourself out there and try something new, and someone laughs at you for even attempting it. And sometimes, that's enough to make people give up before they've even started. I think we underestimate how many decisions we make based on the fear of what other people might think. We avoid opportunities. We keep our ideas to ourselves. We convince ourselves we're not ready. All because we're worried about being judged. But the reality is that you cannot control how other people respond to your decisions. Some criticism will be worth listening to. Some of it won't. The important thing is learning to recognise the difference without allowing either to stop you from doing what you genuinely believe is right. Because if your biggest priority in life is making sure nobody ever has anything negative to say about you, you'll end up limiting yourself to whatever keeps everybody else comfortable. And that's a terrible reason to waste your potential.
