I once had this debate with my date. He asked me who would be more affected if a pregnancy happened. I said, obviously, the mother. His response was: “Women shouldn’t blindly trust a man when it comes to contraception. He don’t care because he can simply leave and act like the child never existed. It’s her responsibility to protect herself. It’s not about equality—it’s about self-protection ” Honestly, I couldn’t argue with that.

i think we enable them and they ride on that. A wife would feel sorry for her husband and talk him out of a vasectomy cause it's "too big a procedure" but get an iud or cut her fallopian tubes cause "it's easier" after giving birth. it's very normalised for women to take contraceptives but for men all of a sudden we need the whole world's trust cause yk, boys are boys and can't be trusted.
