My name is Tina. An elderly woman I worked with asked me if I was a Christina or a Valentina, etc. I told her no, my name is just Tina. She called me Justina for five years.

I’m a nurse and many years ago I had really bad issues with IBS. One night I was in a patient’s room and she was the kind of person that loved to talk talk talk. I stood there nodding, but had myself clenched tight to hold in this massive fart. I was dying and hoping for a break in the conversation so I could run out. Finally it wouldn’t stay in and came out in a fury. It took 10-12 seconds to complete and the whole time I was apologizing.

Honestly the manager that fired that teenager should think about that everyday and think about how they fucked up because some people struggle and there’s no other way. it was a fast food place. Not a five star restaurant. Should’ve given the kid a break

Worked as a store manager and there was an old man who came in WEEKLY and just cleaned us out of laundry detergents and clothes. We rarely saw him until he was beeping out the door. The man was my arch nemesis. 😂😂 But eventually he stopped coming in around COVID and I just...don't know what happened to him. I mean, he was COMMITTED and had been doing this since well before I came to the store. And even though he stole a RIDICULOUS amount, I'm sure this is someone who had loved ones and I just always hoped he was okay.

I worked as a paralegal for a law firm that owned the entire historic building. The Firm took up most of it but there was some rental space too. One night I was one of the last people leaving and I thought I smelled gas. Considering the businesses that were there and the time of year it was, that was unlikely but I couldn't let it go so I called the second in charge at the firm and told him and he said he would check it out. The next morning when I came into work he was so happy with me because he said there was a gas leak and if it had been allowed to go all night, there could have been a real catastrophe. If I hadn't called him they could have lost the whole building, according to the people who came out from the gas company. But what I can't forget is that the head of the firm, the owner of the building, never once said thank you. Never acknowledged I'd done anything to save the building from explosion, never mentioned it even once. I kind of think she owed me one but apparently she disagreed.

I was a struggling early 20’s mom with a special needs baby putting myself through school and bartending/serving. I was known as “the dishpit queen” bc if I was on shift no one had to worry about it once. I set my apron w my book down in it for a second to get some dishes done while we had a trainee under someone else that day. She dropped some dishes off and disappeared, leaving a trail of dollars. I followed it to bring to her until I realized it went to the exit. Ran back to the dish pit and my book was gone from my apron. She stole $120 in tips from me and never showed her face again.

Lost out on a big promotion because another candidate was sleeping with the manager. They both ended up being fired over it, though. 😂

I worked as a bartender on a main road. One of my friends left the bar and came back and screaming, "somebody's gotta help him! "We walked outside, and there was an accident, and a man was thrown out of his car, lying on the pavement, broken bones and blood. There was a group of nurses in the bar. They tried to resuscitate him, and one told me that he was dead, but they could not call it. We found out that they had left another bar, got into an accident, two brothers, one driving, one ejected and killed. I will never forget it.

A lady got hit in a crosswalk crossing the street using her walker. The guy was going to fast. He knocked her out of her shoes. I learned that some people’s trauma response involves smiling. The guy smiled the whole time they were loading her in the ambulance. I’m sure that he will never forget that day. She was alive but injured

Sandwich shop A gay coworker/drag performer thought it'd be cute to do a bit and clack me in the face with his fan. Owner of the shop said he didn't see a problem.
