It IS nice to spend money on myself without immediately calculating which bill I just fucked up. It IS nice to take the trip. Get the procedure. Buy the thing. Be present with my family. Wake up, excited about my own damn life. But sweetheart, you’re looking at the finish work and comparing it to the job site you’re standing in. You didn’t see all the fucking demo. You didn’t see me starting over. You didn’t see the days when my life looked absolutely nothing like this. And that is why I’m not here to motivate you. I’m here to PISS you off just enough that you stop accepting a life your secretly miserable in. Because wanting more doesn’t make you ungrateful. Wanting to feel beautiful doesn’t make you vain. Wanting money doesn’t make you greedy. Wanting time from your kids sometimes doesn’t make you a bad mother. And wanting a life that makes YOU feel alive again doesn’t mean you don’t love the people you spent years taken care of. Maybe you don’t need another woman telling you to be grateful for what you have. Maybe you need one to look you dead in the face and say: YOU are allowed to want some shit for you, too. I did.
