@oasismotelhotpool: BEHOLD THE REALITY BENEATH THE WATER. Strip away Lake Taupō’s beautiful blue surface and an entirely different landscape appears beneath it — basins, scarps, ridges and the submerged architecture of one of Earth’s great volcanic systems. Over the last week I’ve felt both the M2.5 and M2.7 events. In many places, earthquakes that small would probably pass beneath my notice. But we live at the southern end of Lake Taupō, around Tokaanu and Waihi, where hot springs, geothermal ground, steep volcanic terrain and the extraordinary landscape around us are daily reminders that this is not ordinary terra firma. Locally, I sometimes think of this southern end as “volcanic glue” — a complicated landscape assembled from generations of volcanic, geothermal, sedimentary and erosional processes. That makes feeling a small earthquake interesting. It does not make it a prediction. So instead of guessing what Taupō is going to do next, we do what ZEADUSA IM.POSSIBLE was built to do: OBSERVE IT. MEASURE IT. MAP IT. AND LET THE DATA SPEAK. This month we remove the water and look beneath the lake. TAUPŌ WATERLESS. Observation • Measurement • No Prediction Order over chaos. Always. 🙏🌋📐 #Taupo #NewZealand #Earthquake #Volcano #ZEADUSA
