@themidlifemess: It can catch you completely off guard. You’re not necessarily unhappy. You’re not necessarily wanting to walk away from everything you’ve built. But suddenly you’re noticing how much of your life has been shaped around what everyone else needs. And once you notice that, it’s difficult to stop thinking about it. How much of what you do is because you genuinely want to? How much is habit? How much is responsibility? How much is simply because you’re the person who always sorts it? For years, being needed can feel like your purpose. Then one day you realise you’ve become so good at looking after everyone else that you’ve got absolutely no idea what you’d choose for yourself. That realisation can feel incredibly uncomfortable. Especially when you love the people in your life. Because the question isn’t necessarily “Do I want a different life?” It might be something much simpler. “Where am I in mine?” Has perimenopause made you look at your life differently? What have you started questioning? I want the honest answer, even if it’s a bit messy. #perimenopause #perimenopausejourney #midlifewomen #womenover40 #midlifemess
