Go to small pharmacies. They are so much better. I left CVS years ago and haven’t had a problem since.

I’ve been going to the same pharmacy for a couple years now. I had a major surgery in July and so for the first time in a year I got meds from a different doctor in a different state. Yesterday after returning to my pre surgery regimen the pharmacist denied me, accused me of constantly filling early(I’m on a 28 day schedule and I pick up on day 28) and saying I’d been red flagged because of the activity from the previous couple months of switching providers and states. He told me verbatim that he needed to know my treatment plan(which is fair) but I need a documented procedure and new imaging before he would fill it. I calmly asked how I was “constantly” filling it early he said I always picked it up on day 28. I told him I’m on a 28 day cycle. That prompted him to tell me that I had been on the medication “long enough” and he was needed an updated MRI documenting my need for continued therapy. He was so incredibly rude and condescending and it hurts terribly to be spoken to like this. I’m never aggressive, I always lead with kindness and understanding. But I’ve been with the same pain management practice since 2022. What did I do to deserve treatment like this?

Omg, I have personally said to patients do not use CVS or Walgreens. I lost count of how many scripts they "lost." I am talking about multiple locations!

Same boat for over 20 years unfortunately. I’ve learned not only document all interactions with time/date/name, etc… I’ve started video recording all interactions albeit surreptitiously just to cover my own ass. Sad

this is so ridiculous. It is getting just beyond asinine. I actually had an interesting experience this week. I had to get antibiotics filled and it’s a new dentist and he deals with this mom and Pop pharmacy near his clinic and encourage me because if I send CVS you know it’s gonna take them all day to fill it once I send it to this pharmacy. There are mom and he’ll fill it right in front of you really fast. Is it OK? I prefer to use a mom and pop anyway so while I was there, I decided to ask the pharmacist about his pain meds. I said that I use Costco for my pain medication had recently switched from the hospital pharmacy, but I prefer to use a mom and pop because I want to keep them in business and told him you know some of my issues that I’ve dealt with in the past this pharmacist said that he has experienced this himself and that’s one reason why he thinks it’s so important that modern Pop pharmacy is exist. He said he went through this with his mom his mom had surgery and she needed her pain meds and he was in her at her house in Arizona or somewhere and the pharmacist was awful, absolutely awful treated him like he was a drug seeker. He explained that this was for his mother who had surgery and he himself was a pharmacist. This guy’s tune, totally changed, so it was really interesting to hear a pharmacist who runs his own. Pharma experience this and we’re just commiserating over you know this situation and how the rules are and etc.. I switched my medication that day from Costco to him and it was funny because I switched to Costco because the hospital pharmacy I was using could only get this one generic that I was having a hard time with he not only went out of his way to have my my prescription sent to him, but he also asked me what the prescription that I had a hard time with the generic, and he switched it to a generic that he knew that would work really well that he knew was made to spec. He had heard about the generics having issues before it was amazing. I am so glad my dentist sent me to this guy because he gets it.

This is why I stopped going to Walgreens. My palliative care dr had to call them every single fill. It was getting crazy. Then if it was a weekend I was screwed.

I’m so sorry. I get mine sent in 3 weeks before it’s due also. But I still have anxiety about it.. since switching to Costco it’s been better, the fill every 28 days but I don’t pick up till 29 or 30 because I am afraid of being re flagged.
