still don't get why we can't use our own oil. I used to live in the Permian basin, and my ex worked for Monahan's nipple up service as a swamper and a pole truck operator pulling up stacks weighing over 10000 lbs easily. anyways, so why are we importing oil when we have the oil. regardless if it's imported or pumped locally, it still has to be brought to refineries. and importing oil seems a lot more expensive than upgrading our pipelines. doesnt make sense to me
