@the_30_rule: Improving restaurant profit margins starts with improving the way you lead. Yes, margins are thin. Labor is difficult. Turnover is expensive. Guests expect more than ever. Every restaurant operator is facing some version of the same challenges. The difference is how you respond to them. “I can’t” gives you permission to accept the problem. “How can I?” forces you to search for the solution. How can we train our people more effectively? How can we develop stronger managers? How can we create systems that make consistency easier? How can we deliver an experience that gives guests a reason to return? The restaurant industry isn’t going to suddenly become easier. Your leadership has to become stronger. Your team will adopt the mindset you model. If leadership blames the industry, the team will blame their circumstances. But when leaders take ownership, ask better questions, and find a way forward, that mentality spreads throughout the entire business. Growth begins when excuses end and ownership starts.
