HSV 1 is also a lot more common on the genitals now because so many people don’t know NOT to give oral with a cold sore 🫠🫠

Because my mom was a scientist, she called my cold sores herpes. So I told everybody in my 3rd grade class I had herpes. 🤦♀️

I had an extremely stressful birth with my second child. Within hours of having him I got a cold sore. I pretty much stayed away from him for three weeks just to make sure. He’s all clear but man that was a rough three weeks to not be near my newborn 😭

my grandmother is responsible for giving every one of her grandchildren hsv1 because she didnt "believe" how it was spread and selfishly wanted to kiss her grandchildren all the time

And definitely please GOD do NOT kiss any babies! What is generally a mild infection in big kids and grown ups can be deadly in infants.

Yes I have the facial virus and have not infected any one. 4 children, 3 are now adults. It sucks to have it, just be mindfull of how you interact others during those flare ups. It stops being infectous to others in time just wait it out.

My kid has ocular hsv. The scar on his cornea from his first infection will never go away. Makes me rage when I think about whoever kissed him as a baby.
