yesterday, going in to buy his favorite cut waters cause it’s all that makes him happy lately, he realized his ID was expired and couldn’t purchase them himself. i used mine and on the way out, just like into the market he did “the walk” … i made a sarcastic comment about it and even told him my foot was hurting and noted im not walking slow on purpose as he always acts irritated when i confront whats actively happening… (aka the obvious distance that is reoccurring) and a cart girl who was watching us caught the fall on my face of realizing he wouldn’t even turn around to hear the distant travel in my voice because he got what he wanted and nothing was gonna stop him… not even my hurt foot plus still not wanting to make him feel like i “walk slow on purpose” as im usually accused when i ask why he can’t keep the pace….on top of waiting for him to notice i hadn’t even crossed the street yet and acting annoyed when he did i was embarrassed. it’s embarrassing. it feels like… being an ugly duckling trying to catch up. i just threw on my sunglasses to try to hide my hurt reaction. that cart girl, noticed me notice her noticing me, and she waited until he turned around again to loudly say, making sure he heard: “girl your skirt is so nice. your whole outfit, the shoes too. you look great.” like i really needed to be acknowledged. and yeah, i did.
