It’s the fact that Luke wasnt even asked to come to support Lorelai but he did. They weren’t even dating or even speaking at this point after they’d broken up and he still showed up (forgive me if my memory is fuzzy I haven’t watched this season since like last year)

As a single mother lorelai did everything with Rory she had her all to herself all these years and was there for the first steps ect. And I know Luke was wrong to push lorelai away but I don’t blame him for wanting to build a relationship with his own daughter one on one without lorelai before stepping into marriage like they could have just waited a bit it didn’t have to be now or never especially my that they waited 8 years to even date
